I’m gonna be honest. The main reason why I wanted to visit Stockholm in the winter is for the bakeries. 

What can I say… I’m a bread phine. And I sure got my fix during my 4 days here! 

I spent pretty much my entire trip scouring the city on the hunt for the best cinnamon/cardamom buns. For you guys, of course. 

The bakeries were obviously amazing compared to the ones in the U.S., but after Copenhagen, I wasn’t convinced that Stockholm could compete with the quality of Copenhagen’s bakery scene. 

However, on my last day, I woke up early to embark on one last bakery adventure, and visited 3 bakeries right about when they opened. 

All 3 were shockingly incredible. 

Like, I couldn’t believe how good the buns I got were compared to the past few days of mainly disappointments.

I started to fear that I may have cheated myself of good pastries the past few days because the difference was that my bakery adventures occurred during the middle of the day, hours after opening. 

So… unfortunately, I cannot tell if the bakeries I visited on my last day were really exceptional bakeries, or if it was just because the pastries were at their freshest. 

That being said, each and every bakery listed below provided me with transcendent pastries that I deem the best of Stockholm. 

The winter may be long and dreary, but rest assured, the bakeries here make up for it!

Without further ado, here is my list of the best bakeries in Stockholm!

• Café Mariaberget

Must try cinnamon rolls. Perfection. 

• Clemedt Duner Bageri

• Ett Bageri

My second favorite bakery on this list. My hopes and dreams of a good bakery. 

• Fabrique

A chain that’s worth the hype. 

• Lillebrors Bageri

Best bakery in Stockholm. Thank you. That is my conclusion. 

• Skeppsbro Bageri 

Good quality. I really enjoyed this one with sugar!

• Svedjan Bageri 

Chewy consistency. Delicious!

• Valhalla Bageret

Definitely worth checking out. Amazing cinnamon buns!
